Erik Bäckström has retired from the force and returned to Norrbotten where he enjoys his newfound peaceful way of living. When Markus, a beloved local mining entrepreneur, is assaulted by a presumed environmental activist, Erik is tasked with finding the suspect. Not before long, Erik starts to distrust his new boss and his hunt for the truth risks to devastate the lives of his loved ones.
